For two reasons:
1. We would like to provide elderly and physically/mentally impaired people a seamless experience by removing the hassle of creating accounts and then having to remember passwords. More often than not, they tend to forget their passwords, and then face difficulties in resetting them, only to forget them again.
While we are proud that most of you can navigate apps with ease, we sincerely request you to empathize with others who can't. You don't want the technologically-challenged people to get frustrated with accounts and passwords, and then give up, do you?
2. And that's not all.
Cybersecurity threats have wreaked havoc. Despite their best effort, companies have succumbed to these threats and their customers have had their personal information stolen from their secure accounts. PalUpNow! doesn't want to store your sensitive details any longer than we have to. This limits your exposure, and protects us as well.

For your privacy and safety, PalUpNow! doesn't display your real name on your anonymized profile, and uses an alias instead, like "rose".
While signing up, choose an alias that you'll remember easily.

a. Sign-up confirmation email
b. Match alert email
If you're not satisfied with your matches, you can contact us and we'll try to address your issue(s).
You can temporarily deactivate your profile on our self-serve platform. We'll pause your match alerts. When you're ready, reactivate your profile. No activation fee.
Or, delete your data. If you have multiple profiles, you may choose to deactivate/delete some or all.

We understand that some people do not speak/write English and conduct business in their preferred language.
We're based in the United States but are global citizens. Our web app supports automatic translations in Arabic, French, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, and Tagalog.
We've also enabled an alternate machine translation solution of our web app in 5 more languages: Bengali, German, Hindi, Japanese, and Swahili.
To serve a global community, we translate our English posts in Japanese on Linkedin, and German on Instagram.
PalUpNow! match alert emails are in English. People can use the translation services provided by their email provider, like Gmail and Outlook. In general, anyone can use translation services from Google Translate or DeepL.

Every time you sign up, an anonymized profile gets created with a unique ID, and a confirmation email gets sent to you.
For example, you can request a Ride Pal on two separate occasions:
a. First, with the alias "Hungry, but not angry!" and get matched for a 2-way ride to get your groceries this coming weekend.
b. Second, with the alias "Fitter is better!" and get matched for a virtual session with a fitness coach the following month.
Also, you could be requesting a Flight Pal when you fly.
We recommend you use a different alias every time you sign up to maintain anonymity, especially if you've revealed your current alias.
However, if this isn't a concern, you can use the same alias multiple times. Remember to choose an alias that you can easily remember.

The ID is a system-generated unique identifier that PalUpNow! creates every time you sign up.

While you're filling out a form, PalUpNow! tends to retain the information you've entered for your convenience.
When you use our forms from a shared device at home, or a public device in an internet cafe, use the Clear Form option to clean up your data before you leave.
This will ensure that others don't accidentally see your information after you've left.
